Description:

A beautiful, hilly walk taking in Roseberry Topping, Captain Cooks Monument and High Cliff Nab. This is a rewarding but fairly challenging walk with about 850m ascent in total. We will start by walking uphill and then circle around Roseberry Topping, joining the Cleveland Way which we follow up to Captain Cooks Monument. We will have an early lunch there, taking in wonderful views of the North York Moors.

After lunch we head through woodland, past a farm and then up onto the Moor where we will catch a glimpse of the sea - before heading up to High Cliff Nab for views of Guisborough. We then head into a plantation and then a steep ascent up to The Hanging Stone, before connecting back with the Cleveland Way.

We end the walk by ascending to the summit of Roseberry Topping before dropping back down to the car park.

Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead.

Parking arrangements:

We will start from the car park at the bottom of Roseberry Topping - toilets are available and the car park is pay and display (£4.80) so please bring change. There is a lay by further up the village (past the pub) which is free but has limited capacity.
