Welcome to GYBO!

We are a friendly and sociable walking group aimed at people in their 20s, 30s and the young at heart, welcoming walkers from across North and East Yorkshire.

The group is part of The Ramblers Association (a registered charity) and is run entirely by our members who volunteer their time to lead walks and organise social events.

You can also join our group on Facebook, where you can keep in touch with other group members, share photos, and arrange lifts.

Description: Staying in EITHER Glenthorne Guesthouse, Easedale Road, Grasmere OR your
choice of hostel (there are at least 3 in the area)

In order to appeal to widest possible market I have decided that as well as
offering places at Glenthorne I will also allow people to book their own
accommodation wherever they like!

Glenthorne option:
Currently I have a number of places available for either 2 or 3 nights in
the guesthouse which I have booked exclusively (and have done for the last
13 years). The guesthouse holds 45 people in a mixture of single, twin or
double rooms with or without ensuite facilities. The following costs are
per person depending on the type of room and the number of nights, it is
FULL board which means Breakfast, packed lunch, Afternoon Tea and 3 course
Dinner are included.
Standard room (bathroom shared across corridor): 2 nights £144 and 3 nights
£216
Ensuite room: 2 nights £162 and 3 nights £243

Self-book hostel option:
Please let me know if you are interested in this option. There are at least
3 hostels in the area: YHA Buttarlyp and Independent Hostel Thorney Howe are
the nearest to the guesthouse, with Broadrayne Farm hostel just about half a
mile away.

On the weekend itself we usually have 2 walks on each day but this depends
on volunteer walk leaders and the weather conditions at the time.

Please email me if you are interested or have any queries.
