We meet at the Triton Inn, Brantingham then share cars to the start of the walk at the Humber Bridge Country Park car park. From the meeting point near to the car park's public toilets, we walk under the magnificent Humber Bridge to the 'official' start of the Heritage Way at Hessle Haven. We then go back the way we came under the Bridge, via the (very flat) footpath along the Humber to North Ferriby village and a packed lunch. After lunch, we cross the bridge over the A63 and take in some good views and the pretty village of Welton with some gentle but prolonged hills in woodland via a quiet road overlooking the Humber and Lincolnshire. We finally pass through some slightly hilly woods and down Spout Hill to the finish in Brantingham.
Dogs welcome, but if bringing your dog, please arrange in advance for a lift to/from the start point with someone willing to take your dog in their car. It may be possible to meet a limited number of people at the start point of the Humber Bridge Car park, but please ensure that you have first arranged a lift back from Brantingham to collect your car at the end of the walk!
Parking arrangements:
Permission to park at the Triton Inn Brantingham was granted on 12/2/23 on the understanding that some people may have a drink/food in the pub. Parking at the Humber Bridge Country Park is free, but gates are closed later in the evening.
