Description:
This is a linear walk, so we will be meeting at the end of the walk at Levisham, leaving some cars there and driving to the start in Cropton. Please be prepared to offer other walkers a lift at the start or end of the walk.
The walk is dog-friendly, but dogs will need to be kept on a short lead if we cross any fields with livestock. If you want to bring your dog then please arrange with someone in advance who is happy to have a dog in their car for the shuttling before/after the walk.
This is the third section of the Tabular Hills walk from Cropton to Levisham. Leaving Cropton we follow quiet lanes and paths through undulating countryside and woodlands filled with wildflowers before climbing up Newton Banks to the pretty village of Newton-on-Rawcliffe. After stopping for lunch by the duck pond we drop down to cross the North York Moors railway before heading through a hidden valley and a final ascent back to Levisham, where a drink in the pub awaits.
Parking arrangements:
On street parking on Braygate Lane in Levisham where we shall be meeting, and on High Street in Cropton for those offering lifts to the start.
