A mostly gentle walk east out of Helmsley, through woodland with one or two picturesque tree line views.
Just one short steep incline to get the heart pounding, and a couple more gentle hills but nothing too taxing. A good chance of mud, gaiters recommended. Sheep and pheasant sightings also very likely. We pass close by a farm and will walk a short while along a road. Dogs very welcome although there are several stretches that require dogs to be on lead. We will pause for a drink and quick snack, bring a mat if you have one.
We’ll finish the walk at The Feathers for lunch where we have a private room booked and a delicious menu to refuel. A good chance to wind down and chat after all that walking.
We don’t need you to register to attend this walk. Anyone joining us for lunch will need to sign up so we can preorder and prepay for our food. Use the EventBrite link under to sign up for the walk with pub lunch afterward.
Lunch will also provide a chance for anyone interested in leading a walk in the future to find out more. Stevie and Becky will run through all the stuff you need to know and be on hand for questions.
GYBO is run by volunteers and we’re looking for new walk leaders to make sure our walk calendar is always full. Leading a walk is relatively easy, and there are plenty of experienced walk leaders on hand to help you learn the ropes. Over lunch, we’ll give a quick 20min intro for those interested to find out how it all works.
This is a walk, with a social lunch and information session afterward. If you wish to attend for the walk only, you do not need to sign up. If you are planning to join us for a pub lunch please make sure you sign up through the EventBrite link below. We will contact you with a menu and to arrange pre-ordering.

Parking arrangements:
We will meet at the Cleveland Way Car Park. This is on on Cleveland Way, Off Church Street. It is a pay and display car park, around £6 for the day. There are also public toilet facilities available at the car park.
