This walk does not require pre-booking.
Starting on Blakey Ridge we head down the road past the Lion Inn, before heading onto moorland crossing Rosedale Head and passing Fat Betty with expansive views all around.
From there we descend down in to picturesque Westerdale, where we will pause for lunch. We then follow the River Esk up to it's source - known locally as the Esklets. This area can be quite boggy under foot but the views are worth it.
Finally we join the path of the old iron stone railway and climb back to the start point.
Please note due to the upland nature of the terrain this walk is not suitable for wellies or jeans, please see the walking kit list.
