Description:
This walk does not require pre-booking.
A gentle, slightly undulating walk to welcome in the new year that takes in the town of Ripon, views of Fountains Abbey and a walk through the deer park at Studley Royal.
We will leave Ripon along the riverside and follow quiet country lanes and tracks to Fountains Abbey - there is a farm on this stretch of the walk though so expect mud and dogs must be on leads. After reaching Fountains Abbey (toilet stop and opportunity to buy a hot drink) we will walk to the deer park and have lunch by the lake. After lunch we will continue through Studley Royal, across the seven bridges before turning off towards the pretty village of Studley Roger and follow paths back to Ripon.
After the walk we will head to a pub in Ripon for some refreshments.
