Description:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This walk is limited to 20 places (including the walk leader), these MUST be booked in advance through Eventbrite. Anyone who has not booked a place will not be allowed on this walk. See the Ramblers guidelines for info on taking part in our walks.
Starting from Otley we will cross the bridge and head towards Weston, then through fields to Askwith and from there to Dunkirk (no passport required). After this we will traverse Askwith Moor where views of Nidderdale can be seen before we get to Timble village. Crossing Timble Beck we head towards Low Snowden before ascending towards Dob Park Lodge in the Washburn valley. From this point we descend to Otley via the exclusive village of Clifton.
This a long walk but the rewards are that it has good views of Lower Wharfedale, Nidderdale and the Washburn valley.
Parking arrangements:
£3.20 in the North Parade car park There is free parking in Otley but this is the best place to start the walk.
Public transport:
None - unfortunately due to Dr Beeching the nearest train station is at Menston about 2 miles away.
