This is a 7 ish mile circular walk from Hutton-le-Hole, via the scenic and peaceful Douthwaite Dale encompassing a mix of woodland, riverside and grassed valleys. We also visit Gillamoor which has sweeping views and a country pub with beer garden on the village green (refreshment stop if there is sufficient space).
The route is quite hilly, with a few steep climbs, otherwise we will take a relatively relaxed pace. As such this is a good walk for new members and those looking to socialise & enjoy the scenery.
Car sharing can be arranged via the Get Your Boots On Facebook group. There is a charge for parking at the start point and there is not substantial on-street parking in Hutton-le-Hole.
There are opportunities for enjoying Hutton-le-Hole's tea room or pub before and/or after the walk, as an optional group social, depending on seating or takeaway options.
Dogs are welcome on the walk, may need to be kept on lead when crossing fields. There are public toilets at the start/end of the walk.
Parking arrangements:
Car park is pay & display - currently £4.80 for the day. Card only.
GYBO is a friendly and sociable walking group aimed at people in their 20s, 30s and the young at heart.
You are welcome to attend up to three of our walks before you need to sign up as a member of the Ramblers
