IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This walk is limited to 15 places (including the walk leader), these MUST be booked in advance through Eventbrite. Anyone who has not booked a place will not be allowed on this walk. See the Ramblers guidelines for info on taking part in our walks.
The walk starts at York Memorial Gardens and follows the riverside path out to Clifton Ings, around the floodplain embankment and past the church. Depending on time we may detour along the leafy Clifton Park Avenue to visit The Dormouse beer garden for a drink.
Our route back to York takes us past Clifton Meadows nature area, Dame Judi Dench Walk riverside terrace, past Museum Gardens to York Minster and York Art Gallery. Provided that the City Walls are open, we will head up onto the walls and around the back of York Minster with views over the Minster gardens. Stepping down onto Goodramgate, we make our way back towards the centre of York, finding somewhere to sit outside for an impromptu post-walk social.
