This is a 7 mile circular walk starting in Pocklington. After ascending out of the village, we follow the Chalkland Way and a woodland nature trail, detouring via the Kilnwick Percy Hall lake & grounds. There is a steady climb up Whinny Hill, rewarded with sweeping views over Millington.
After descending along the Minster Way, there is the opportunity to stop for refreshments in Millington (Ramblers Rest tearooms) at the midway point, provided there is sufficient outdoor seating. It is recommended to bring lunch as we will find a scenic, spacious area outside the village if the weather is dry. The route back to Pocklington takes us via after a short sharp hill climb through Millington Woods.
This walk is ideal for new members i.e. those interested in getting more involved in young Ramblers (aimed at 20s, 30s and the young at heart) walking and socialising with Get Your Boots On.
