IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This walk is limited to 12 places (including the walk leader), these MUST be booked in advance through Eventbrite - see link at the bottom of the walk description. From the car park we descend into the Hole of Horcum and follow the valley path until we arrive at a stream. It’s then a steady climb up onto the Moors. We follow the path round until Skelton Tower comes into view. At Skelton Tower we will stop for lunch.
The remaining section of the walk follows an undulating path around the other side of the Hole of Horcum to where we started. There is a short climb at the end to reach the roadside.
This is a short walk but quite hilly with a total ascent of about 340m.
Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead to protect ground nesting birds.
Parking: North York Moors National Park are in the process of updating their machines to card only. Please bring cash and card as unknown which pay machine will be in use at the time of the walk.
It was £3.80 all day before the machine upgrade so hopefully it will be same.
You are welcome to attend up to three of our walks before you need to sign up as a member of the Ramblers
