Meet at Riverhead, Driffield, YO25 6NX, behind the railway station. Free on street parking is available but please park with consideration for the residents. We will organise car shares to the walk start point at Lockington, where parking is available at the village hall (please put a donation in the honesty box) or on street parking in the village.
Please be prepared to offer other walkers a lift at the start or end of the walk. Dogs are welcome but please arrange with someone in advance who is happy to have a dog in their car for the shuttling before/after the walk.
This is a 13 mile linear walk from Lockington to Driffield. It is a fairly flat route, taking us through gentle farmland, along good field paths, tracks and minor roads. Please be aware that many of the fields we pass through are likely to have sheep with their lambs, so dogs must be on a lead at all times. Leaving the village, we head north towards Kilnwick & onwards towards Hutton Cranswick, where after crossing the busy A164, we will stop for lunch. As we continue on, we will cross the railway line 3 times, one of these crossings involves a stile, so please bear that in mind if you are bringing your dog.
We then walk along the bank of a small beck as we head towards Driffield and hopefully will be in time to stop for tea and cake at the Bell Mills Garden Centre before walking the final mile back to the cars.Â
As the cafe closes at 4pm, we will be making a prompt start with the car shares, so that we will hopefully arrive in good time. There are toilets available at the cafe. This walk has the potential to be muddy in places, please bring appropriate footwear.Â

You are welcome to attend up to three of our walks before you need to sign up as a member of the Ramblers
