Description: We will walk through a mixture of woodland, farmland, and villages, and follow riverside footpaths on a varied walk which affords some very good photographic opportunities.
We begin at Conisbrough Castle and make our way through wooded areas within the town leading up to the impressive Viaduct. We walk across the viaduct giving us excellent views of the Castle, the town of Conisbrough and the River Don. Coming down the other side we follow the River Don along a popular wooded footpath to Sprotbrough, there we will stop to see the Sprotbrough falls (weir). We then head up into the village and out onto open farmland. Negotiating the village of Marr we head to and through the peaceful Melton Country Park Woods. After find our way to the historic village of Barnburgh with it's impressive Dovecote, we head for the River Dearn and a river side path that leads us back to the River Don and to Conisbrough.
