Meeting Point: West Tanfield Memorial Hall
Public Transport: We will get the Dales bus at 9.57 am to Jervaulx abbey it costs £3.55 for a single.
Parking: There is plenty of parking at the Memoral Hall in West Tanfield, (if coming from Ripon it is on the right hand side after the bridge).
Description: The walk is linear it passes through farmland, woods and follows the river Ure to Masham where there are plenty of shops to buy refreshments. Following this we will take the Ripon Rowel walk path down to the pretty village of Mickley and then onto West Tanfield. The walk is flat and mostly good paths, although near the end of the walk some of the paths are a little overgrown and there are some nettles so it's probably a good idea to where long trousers. There are two pubs in West Tanfield with beer gardens and you can buy Bymor ice cream. If it is a hot day please bring plenty of water. The views on this walk are really lovely and there's plenty of opportunity to spot wildlife such as hares, butterflies and many different types of birds. Dogs should be ok on a lead but we do pass through a farm and there is livestock about!
