Meeting Point: Car park by Chop Gate village hall
Parking: As above
Description: We Climb out of the village heading south west up onto Barkers Ridge, here we have lovely view to the west and to the east the later part of the walk, before descending down to Lord Stones where we join the Cleveland Way. We follow the Cleveland way over several of it short but steep ascents and descents passing the Wainstones, and taking in the stunning views in every direction. Our last big climb gives us view over the Yorkshire Matterhorn aka Roseberry Topping, then we head south over Urra Moor before descending back into Chop Gate.
This walk is on mostly good tracks but there are some sections that have the potential to be quite muddy, there are also some steep ascents and descents but the views are worth the effort.
This walk is mostly over moorland so is suitable for dogs, there are some fields towards the end with livestock in so any dogs will need to be on a lead when passing through these.
