This walks starts from the car park in Hutton le Hole. Meet at 10.15 for a prompt 10.30 start. Parking costs £2.20, and there are toilets available.
We'll begin by taking the road towards Lastingham, heading onto the moors at Mary Magdalene well. We'll then follow paths and tracks north along Lastingham Ridge towards the Ana Cross, before heading west to Redman Cross and down to Rosedale Abbey via Hollins Farm. The plan is to break for lunch in the village (there are a couple of small shops if anyone needs to re-provision). We then have a pretty steep climb back onto the moors. The last leg (along Hutton Ridge and Lodge Road) is fairly easy walking and we leave the moors very close to the car park.
Overall the terrain is mixed (some good tracks, but also some rougher moorland paths), there's just one steep descent and ascent (in and out of Rosedale) and one slightly awkward stream crossing. Sturdy footwear is advised!
