Saturday 4 September 2010: Hutton le Hole

We'll begin by taking the road towards Lastingham, heading onto the moors at Mary Magdalene well. We'll then follow paths and tracks north along Lastingham Ridge towards the Ana Cross, before heading west to Redman Cross and down to Rosedale Abbey via Hollins Farm, for lunch. We then have a pretty steep climb back onto the moors. The last leg is fairly easy walking and we leave the moors very close to the car park.
Saturday 11 September 2010: Cleveland Way (Part 8) - Robin Hood's Bay to Scarborough

The first half of our Scarborough weekend takes us from the steep and pretty fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay over the clifftops past Boggle Hole, Ravenscar, Hayburn Wyke and Scalby Mills, ending at the front in Scarborough, for ice creams, donkey rides and sandcastles. This walk features several short, steep climbs.
Sunday 12 September 2010: Cleveland Way (Part 9) - Scarborough to Filey

We walk along the esplanade which offers great views of Scarborough south bay. We then follow the cliff top path past Knipe Point towards the beautiful Cayton Bay. At Cayton Bay we tackle the steepest climb of the walk. At the end we reach the small and charming town of Filey. From Filey Brigg you can observe Scarborough in one direction and the chalk cliffs of Flamborough in the other.

Mark and Tracy first led this challenging walk in July, but it's back by popular demand as a lot of people were unable to make it then. Starting at Brantingham, the walk traces round the edge of the Wolds to South and North Cave and Hotham, returning over the higher ground of Arras Wold and Newbald Wold.

This linear walk follows the towpath of the Leeds–Liverpool Canal from Skipton to Saltaire, which is now a Unesco World Heritage Site … downhill all the way! This walk has been designed as a public transport walk.
Sunday 10 October 2010: Fountains Abbey

The walk will begin by passing through the scenic Skell Bank woods. We will then have a complete change of scenery as we cut through open farmland and head towards an historic tower, on top of a hill with wonderful views towards Ripon and the estates of Fountains Abbey. Next we will be passing through the grounds of Markenfield Hall, which was built in 1310 and is surrounded by a moat. The walk will end by passing through the estate of Fountains Abbey and Studley Park deer park.

Beginning from the pretty village of Lofthouse, this walk takes in sections of the Nidderdale Way to visit Dale Edge, Scar House reservoir and Manchester Pot. Superb views of Nidderdale and wider areas of Yorkshire.
