From Rosedale we walked along the valley bottom heading roughly north stopping for lunch in a little hamlet, from there we crossed over to the other side of the valley and climbed up to the top of the ridge and walk along the old dismantled railway, dropping back into Rosedale Abbey near Chimney Bank.
