Despite the forecast for dreadful weather, a large group of 30 keen walkers met in Market Weighton (eventually!). We set off across muddy fields, with a light dusting of snow covering the ground, and shortly arrived at Londesborough, where we stopped for lunch outside the church. After we'd had a bite to eat, we walked on through the village, round in a loop and back the way we came, then across some other muddy fields with lots of sheep and lambs, to the equally pretty village of Goodmanham. We then joined the old Selby—Driffield railway line, which met up with the York—Hull railway line (now the Hudson Way), to return to Market Weighton, and the pub. Despite hosting a wedding reception, they were happy to take us in our muddy clothes in one corner!
