Section 5 was a very sunny day. Indeed many bare legs made their first appearance of the year. We started out from Lealholm in the sweltering heat. Fortunately much of the walk was on the moor tops. Lunchtime was extended as we lay snoozing or sunbathing in the heather. Many thought that a return to Lealholm seemed good. We descending into Rosedale. We decided that we should go to Rosedale Abbey to purchase Ice Cream and top up water supplies which were getting very low. As we walked along the little country lanes fledging thrushes were testing out their young wings alongside us. We climbed up Chimney Bank before completing the walk and going for an excellent meal at the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge. |
