We started the Inn Way leaving Helmsley on an overcast day. The mud glued our boots to the ground. Shortly into the walk we had our first diversion as the bridge near Harome had been swept away in the flood of 2005. Along the way she admired many pretty villages. Our second diversion was in Kirkdale. Again the bridge had been swept away and the water rushed over a ford which is normally dry. As we approached Fadmoor the heavens opened. We arrived at Hutton le Hole wet and muddy! |
